Portfolio Manager

Portfolios are used for displaying groups of Galleries.
You then display a Portfolio on a web page so that all of its Galleries will appear on that page.

exampleFor example: if you take photos of weddings and portraits, then you might create a Portfolio called 'Weddings' and add a few Galleries of wedding photos into that portfolio, and then add this portfolio to a page on your website which you could call 'Wedding Photography'.

You would also create another Portfolio called 'Portraits' which you would use to display a number of galleries of portrait photos, and add that portfolio to a page called 'Portrait Photography'.

Portfolio Title

portfolio title

To change the title of the portfolio press the [edit] button.

There is also the option to hide the title from appearing on the web page.

Description

portfolio description

To change/edit or delete the description press the [edit] button.

The portfolio description appears below the title, and above the gallery title images on the web page.
You can apply basic text formatting as required.

Full Screen Gallery

full screen gallery display

You can display any portfolio of galleries in full browser & screen mode. This opens a full screen slide show that fits the full size of the browser window. All of the galleries in the portfolio can be selected from the menu that appears at the top.

The viewer can also press the F11 key to expand the slide show to their full monitor size.

Due to the very large size of this display on larger monitors it is best to ensure that you only use this facility for galleries that contain larger size images (circa 1200 x 900 pixels). If you have images that are only 700 pixels wide, then they will be enlarged to more than double their size when viewed in full screen mode on a large 24 inch monitor, and the quality of the image will suffer.

To add a link anywhere on your website that will open the full screen slide show, simply copy the URL that appears in this section (see it highlighted above) and use that as the link address on your page.

You can also enter the PopIT shortcode on your page (which is also shown above), and this will generate the link for you.

To change the slide show options press the [edit] button.

IMPORTANT: The web pages that already have a portfolio will be shown in red on the list, and you can only display one portfolio per page, so you can only select a web page without a portfolio.

Lightbox

lightbox

The lightbox feature displays a cross icon below each thumbnail in the image display. This allows visitors to add their choice of photos to their own lightbox collection from any of your galleries that have this feature enabled. You can switch this feature on or off for all galleries in this portfolio here.

Lightbox Features

When someone adds their choice of images to their lightbox they can then send a link to view their lightbox to friends on email, or paste the link on facebook, along with their comments.

When a friend clicks on the link they can view the lightbox collection of photos and leave their own comments, or visit the galleries and add more images to the lightbox. They can also send the same link to their own friends. This process is called viral marketing, and it encourages visitors to spread the word about your photos.
